Google Drive Overview [aka Google Docs] [LNL]

October's Lunch 'N Learn also gave a brief overview of what Google Drive is and can do.  Basically, Google Drive is Google's answer to Microsoft Office only on the web and with built in online storage.  Google Drive allows you to create, documents, spreadsheets, drawings, forms, and presentations.

Since Google is the "king of search", it's only natural that Google Drive allows your files to be easily searchable.  Drive allows you to filter in numerous ways, while also allowing you to organize as you would offline with folders.  Drive also gives you many capabilities for editing and formatting your documents that you will find very familiar and user-friendly.

Lastly, we discussed Google Drive's main claim to fame: live collaboration.  Any document within Google Drive can be shared with anyone to allow you both to work at the same time on the same document!

Logging into Google Drive [aka Google Docs] [EHOVE Staff] [LNL]

October ushered in the first Lunch 'N Learn of the 2012-2013 school year.  The topic was an introduction to Google Drive.  For those that missed it, or those that would like to be able to reference what was discussed this post is just for you!

For EHOVE staff, in order to access your Google Drive account, you first need to change your EHOVE computer account password.  To change this password, when you are logged into an EHOVE computer, hit CTRL+ALT+DEL on the keyboard and select "Change Password".  The password must be at least 8 characters long.  After you have changed your password please wait at least 10 minutes to allow our server to sync with Google before attempting to log into apps.ehove.net.  ***NOTE:  The new password you create will be used for your computer account, EHOVE email account and for your EHOVE Google account.***

Now start enjoying Google Drive!
