Google Drive Necessities [Part 1]

There are a few essential things that ever Google Drive user should know. Google Drive can do so much for you and with these small steps you will be well on your way to cracking into Drive's potential.  For those that don't know Google Drive allows a user to create Documents, Spreadsheets, Slides (Presentations), Forms, and Drawings. You can do this all from the web without ever needing to worry about what version of Microsoft Office you have or whether or not your computer can support it.  The only thing you need to get started is a Google account!

Uploading Files

If you are new to Google Drive you may be thinking "Oh man! I guess I'll have to recreate all of my files in order to be able to use them in Drive."  Well, never fear!  Google Drive allows you to upload just about any type of file!  During the upload process, if Drive allows, you can covert the file to a usable Drive format.

So for example, if you normally use Microsoft Word for all of your document needs, Drive will allow you to upload all of your documents and convert them into a format that you can use on the web.

Watch the following video to see how it's done!

Downloading Files and Folders

If for some reason you need to download your documents to use elsewhere, Drive also gives you the capability to download files in their original format, PDF and a few others.
